Those at the senior end are typically engaged cases involving offences as diverse as murder, sexual abuse, drugs importation and serious fraud. A service is also available to represent those charged with minor offences in the Magistrates’ Courts. The Team includes three members with CPS Grade 3 status. For those cases requiring leading counsel, the Team is supplemented by two door tenants of outstanding ability in criminal trials.
The Team recognises the importance of working with their professional clients as a team and to that end are happy to provide telephone advice at any time and to draft defence statements, skeleton arguments and other documents as required. The law in this area is changing at an ever more rapid rate. To enable the Team and criminal practitioners to keep abreast of changes, members of the Team present regular lectures and updates.
