Immigration & Human Rights

No. 8 Chambers has the largest Immigration and Human Rights Teams outside London, with 15 practicing members.
We have a long history of association with the fields of Immigration and Asylum work. Current and former members of Chambers hold judicial appointments in the Immigration Appellate Authority and the Tribunal and now in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.
The Team at No. 8 Chambers are well known and well respected by the judiciary, instructing solicitors, fellow members of the Bar and lay clients as being user friendly, well prepared and thorough and skilful in both their advocacy and in respect of paperwork. Members have been involved in some of the leading recent cases that have shaped the approach to immigration and human rights claims in Britain.
We pride ourselves in ensuring that a written case report is sent to instructing solicitors within 24 hours of a hearing to inform our professional clients of the outcome of the hearing and to advise any future steps that ought to be undertaken in furtherance of the case.
All paperwork is returned promptly and urgent written advice is often provided within 24 hours. The Team is aware of the strict time limits within which work must be progressed and direct contact is encouraged between the Team and instructing solicitors to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Chambers regularly holds seminars for practitioners in immigration and human rights and speakers have included senior immigration judges and leading counsel.
