No. 8 Areas of Practice
No. 8 Chambers has some highly distinct competances and advantages in each of its areas of specialisation: Criminal Law, Family Law, Civil Law and Immigtaion and Human Rights.
Our Immigration and Human Rights Team, is the largest outside London. Both current and former members of Chambers hold judicial appointments in the Immigration Appellate Authority and the Tribunal and now in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. Our practice is enhanced through Manjit Gill QC whose main chambers are in London.
Members have been involved in some of the leading recent cases that have shaped the approach to immigration and human rights claims in Britain.
Our Family Law Team provide an extensive range of services across the field of family law. With our 14 members who are experts in the field, we are able to provide a truly comprehensive service to professional and lay clients alike.
The Criminal Law Team represents a long history of practice in this field of work both in prosecution and defence. It includes a number of practitioners whose work is exclusively crime. Those at the senior end are typically engaged in cases involving offences as diverse as murder, sexual abuse, drugs importation and serious fraud. The Team includes three members with CPS Grade 3 status.
No. 8 Chambers Civil Team comprises practitioners covering a variety of areas of civil practice. Particular specialisms include personal injury, professional negligence, contract claims, wills and probate, landlord and tenant and other real property disputes.
