Abid
Mahmood practices in a wide variety of general common law cases with particular
emphasis on Public Law, Human Rights and Civil Litigation. He is the head of
the Immigration and Human Rights Team. Abid is one of the few barristers
approved for the Attorney General’s list of Special Advocates (approved for
national security/terrorism cases). A “Leader at the Bar” in the Chambers and
Partners Directory of barristers and said to “stand out from your average
advocate with a robust style and the capacity to spot good points”. He is also
commended for the prompt return of paperwork by instructing solicitors in a
wide variety of civil work. He takes a keen interest in cases of all areas of
law with novel issues or issues with significant legal complexity. Abid
frequently works with other lawyers (solicitors, juniors and QC’s) in more
difficult or lengthy cases. He also advises for employers and organisations in
respect of immigration law compliance and related matters. He has an ability to use experience in
