Saiqa was called to the Bar in 1995 and, having accumulated considerable and wide-ranging experience in general civil law, family and immigration over more than two decades, she now has a broad family, immigration and asylum and civil practice.

Family

Saiqa has a broad family practice encompassing private and public law. She is regularly instructed in cases involving domestic abuse, honour based violence, female genital mutilation and forced marriage. She also acts for parents, grandparents, children and other litigants in the cases involving arrangements for children.

Saiqa’s public law practice sees her representing local authorities, parents, children and other parties in care proceedings. She has had conduct of cases involving neglect of children and non-accidental injury.

Saiqa builds rapport easily with lay clients and professional clients ensuring at all times that robust advocacy is balanced with empathy in the often highly charged arena of family litigation.

Regulatory

Saiqa has extensive experience in the regulatory field with particular expertise working for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Social Work England (SWE). She has a manner well suited to formal regulatory hearings and is instructed by both regulators and defence solicitors.

Immigration and Asylum

Saiqa has a wide range of experience in Immigration, Nationality and Asylum law. She has a particular interest in Human Rights cases.

Civil

Saiqa has extensive experience of personal injury and road traffic accidents including credit hire. She represents claimants and defendants in small claims trials, fast track trials.
